Praying...

Pray for Doug's friend Molene. Molene is a Haitian police and had been a tranlator for Doug on his frst trips to Haiti. Molene and Doug had spent a lot of time together on past trips. He is still missing. Pray for his family!
Today our friend Etzer Thomas left to return to Haiti. Pray for him...right about now he should be in Dominican Repiblic and will travel into Haiti tomorrow. He is traveling with his aunt who lives there. She was in the US for a family wedding during the time of the earthquake. Doug and Etzer checked on her house while we were there and is was badly damaged. She has been told that she is not going to be able to live there but she has to see it for herself. Pray for her as she returns home, to a place that has changed drastically since she left. Her house is in Port-Au-Prince. Bless her heart...she is in her 80's...this is her house and her life...cannot even imagine! Pray for God to direct their every step! Pray for Etzer as he helps out his brother who lives there and lost everything but his life and his wife's life. He and his wife are living on the street, just like everyone else. He is a pastor there and has asked for help...Is God calling you to go and help him? Just keep praying for our brothers and sisters in Haiti! goodnite!

No rest for my soul...

For the past few weeks...I cannot find rest in my soul. I sleep well at night and my body feels rested but deep down...way way down there is a restlessness. There is an urgency in my soul that I do not understand right now and I cannot shake. I just want to make sure that I share this in a way that allows God to move in your life and speak to your heart and confirms to you that time is short. We are closer to His return than we were yesterday... ARE YOU READY?...BE READY! Are we ready for our worlds to be rocked? If we were stripped of everything what would we have left? Our relationship with Jesus can't be a passing hobby...I must be a consuming force! Don't let the distractions of this temporary world clutter your mind and waste your time. God keeps on speaking to me and reaffirming my restlessness. The restless urgency I feel is unbelievable. I have shared this with Doug and I share it with you prayerfully and for God to do what ever He needs to do with it in you life as He is using this restlessness to make me thirst for Him and seek after Him. Anne Graham Lotz posted a statement on her facebook site and it helps to explain my thoughts and feelings...("The night is coming when no one can work." John 9:4 -- The certainty of the coming "night" should motivate us to reschedule our "day" so that it is fully and eternally productive... from Anne Graham Lotz)

;;;If my people, who are called by My name, humble themselves and pray...

This is part of a note sent from Marie and Elizabeth at El Shaddai Childrens Home in Dessources, Haiti (just outside of Port-Au-Prince).
"...Dessources continues to serve the Lord. We have a service almost every night. Many people attend each night and they cry out to the Lord. Their worship is sweet and they have spent much time on their knees repenting for themselves and their country. Please continue to pray with us. We will be fasting with the country on February 12, 13, & 14. This fast is specifically for repentance for the country of Haiti. We are trusting God to rebuild Haiti for His glory.
Please continue to pray that we will always be in God’s perfect will. May God bless you!
We love you, Marie and Elizabeth

God is at work in our world. We just need to join Him in His work. So many have never heard about Jesus and His love. We need to pray, give all, and go! I received this story today from Haiti and it made my heart rejoice.
This witch doctor lives down the road past where Job lives in Dessource. Too far to walk so Savoir took Marie and Elizabeth and not sure who else. His girlfriend has been coming to church and praying for him to accept Jesus. She told Maire he was ready so they went to see him. He fell on his knees and prayed for Jesus to come in his heart so he would not keep "running in the darkness". He had a huge smile on his face and Elizabeth said it was amazing the change in him so fast.
He then wanted to burn all his stuff. So for the next hour he and his son piled the stuff up out side the temple. Wooden carvings, sticks and stuff that means something, dug up the bottles buried around the yard where the spirits live and set it all on fire!!! People had gathered to watch. His name is Brunell. Elizabeth said it was soo amazing. A God appointment.

Please share this with all you know and pray for Brunell.

New video updates Florida Baptist Haiti relief efforts - Florida Baptist Witness

New video updates Florida Baptist Haiti relief efforts - Florida Baptist Witness

This video was shot while we were in Haiti...the team from Florida Baptist Convention came while we were there. They video taped the rice distribution and some of our team is in it!

praying still...

"The love of Christ compels us..." HIS love has gripped our lives in a way that we can not turn back from HIS call. Does it always make sense?...to the world usually not...but in His plan...Always. The kicker is we usually do not see the endpoint as we take each obedient step...that is where the faith comes in. He gives us faith to continue on. We do not have faith on our own it is a gift! We must trust HIM because He is the only ONE who knows the plan, the path and the endpoint. And again...His love compels us...it grips us...it holds us...it clings to us...it has us entangled in it. It is the only way to really live! Praise God it has nothing to do with us...only HIM and His consuming love! Some may say...Why Haiti? I don't know why Haiti and not some other place and I have to say "His love compels me..." and I have no choice but to follow the voice!
Please continue to pray for provisions to be made for food at El Shaddai. God has a plan! We will trust in HIM!

Good morning world! We have an uregnt prayer request. Doug just talked to Elizabeth Clackler. Elizabeth is the sweet lady who spends the majority of her time at El Shaddai Childrens Home and helps out Marie Prinvil. Elizabeth told Doug that food is needed at the childrens home in a bad way and the warhouse where they usually get the food is empty. Please pray for God to open a door and let the food flood into El Shaddai. Doug and Etzer (Haitian born doctor and raised there but lives in Florida and is pastor of the Haitain church in Vero Beach) were the food runners on our recent trip. They were able to drive across the border into the Dom.Rep. and get rice, beans, salted herring, pasta, flour, etc. from a market. God opened the door that morning as they left early early and were back by noon with "manna from heaven". God opened the border once again and they did not even have to stop for anything at the gates and checkpoints! PLEASE PRAY THAT GOD WILL OPEN THE DOOR AGAIN AND WE WILL WALK THROUGH IT WITH FOOD TO MEET THE NEEDS OF EL SHADDAI!!! I do not know how this story will unfold but I do trust in the ONE who knows the entire blueprint and We are trusting HIM! I am praising HIM right now for how He will make it all come to pass!

I just looked at a few pics of Haiti and it brought back a flood of memories...I hope I will be able to relay thoughts and feelings of our trips there. I want you all to know how big God is and how all comsuming God is. Often we do not recoginize the hand of God because we are way too busy with stuff...I dare you...make a conscience effort to look for God's mighty hand tomorrow...trust me...He is there! Look for His hand...Listen to His voice and follow it! Time after time we saw God's hand on our recent trip...There was a lady who was singing to the top of her lungs with her arms stretched upward and crying as she walked the streets of distruction in Port-a-Prince...God knew her heart and I pray she allowed Him to meet her deepest need. There was a lady who has a burn on her leg that needed to be throughly cleans, that means all of the dead skin had to removed with no pain killer or skin deadening meds. I held her hand and told her to sing...she smiled and began to sing "Jesus is All the World to Me"...even through painful grimmaces she sang and hummed the song. I challenge you to look up the song and read the words. Can we sing that song in the middle of our pain or are we too focused on stuff that we can't hear the voice of God? Nite!
One the passions of our family is the country and people of Haiti. Since 2005 with Doug's first trip there this country has become very close to our hearts. We have formed many friendships and consider these friends family.
Haiti has for a long time been a country with great need. The earthquake a few weeks ago took it to new levels of dispair. We have a chance to join with them to recover and help rebuild their country. The believers in Haiti love Jesus in ways we in the USA can't even understand. I stood in awe a few weeks ago as I watch them praise Jesus for His goodness knowing that many of these people had just lost everything. Their prayer and desire is not for more stuff, but that the joy of their salvation will increase. Someone asked Doug, "Why Haiti"? He said,"When God puts a love in your heart you can't do anything else". What love has God placed in your Heart? What is your passion? As believers in Jesus our greatest love and passion must be Him. If that is true of you than you can't do anything else but live for Him.
